Re: Our trip to Leeds :)

D'ye know... I was sure they looked better on the PC. And now I can't check (as I mentioned, we have had to fiddle with it, so I can't access most of the photos at the moment, they're in no particular order on a spare drive)...

I totally see what you mean. P&P is not my strong point - though I've massively improved from what I was able to do when I first started!

What would you guys do with it? Number 3 that is? Feel free to post edits - I'd be really interested to see if possible, explain what you've done too

I just fiddled with the brightness and contrast.

Re: Our trip to Leeds :)

Interestingly, when I put the two side by side, yours looks a lot greener and less purple. Not sure if that's a good thing.. what I do notice is that the clouds on your edit look much more natural, whereas I prefer the purple of the ground (as it's more how it was) in the original. I expect it would work to do what you've done to the clouds, and to leave the ground area as is, and then tweak brightness there too

Re: Our trip to Leeds :)

Some of this is also dependant on our monitors... for convenience I tend to do a lot of stuff on my big laptop. However the colours are a bit different to my calibrated desktop monitor. I see a variation in both your colours Laura and Jols to what I see as my 'normal'... I was going to try and bring up the purples and the land a little more... will see if I have a bit of time shortly. You often see screen calibrators selling for approx £40 up to a couple of hundred secondhand. I use the Spyder 3 (with 4 software) Elite which is ok. I had a huey Pantone Pro before which some people don't like but I found it fine. Just some ideas if you/we were aiming for consistency.
