Re: New Camera

Ah, a man who wasn't happy with a bridge camera... G3 looks good, the tv advertising works... nearly bought a G2 for street work but would mean starting off yet another system. Next you'll be after that 20mm pancake f1.7!

Can i ask why did you buy that and not say, the Nikon 3100 which is almost the same size?

Look forward to seeing some shots from the G3 and opinions on the viewfinder in all conditions...

ps... the background 'metropolis' in photobucket...is that their background or yours?

Re: New Camera

BC, My main reason for swapping gear is that arthritis has now spread to most of my joints and I am slowly losing mobility.Cortizone injections in both knees help a lot but my hands remain a big problem. The bridge camera seemd to be the way foward, a lot less weight and only one lens. I actually liked the Fuji HS20exr,- 30x zoom, articulated screen and for me the zoom ring on the lens barrel was ideal. Unfortunately, at any thing above base ISO the images showed too much noise for my liking and I'd rather spend time using the camera than doing PP in Photoshop. So, back to the drawing board. I ruled out the Nikon gear for weight reasons, The G3 is small and claimed to be the lightest four thirds body on the market. The lenses are plastic but do have a metal mount. Initial results look promising, time will tell.

Photobucket have been tinkering with their site and the the new album feature gives you a choice of backgrounds.

Re: New Camera

Looks good NS - look forward to seeing more!

Do you know what type of arthritis you have? I know quite a few people who control it with diet (certain things such as tomatoes are terrible for it). PM me if you want more info (in case I miss replies to this thread).
