Re: Bird in flight

Not a bad shot - looks far away? A little noisy, perhaps a bit of PS work could help - but it looks like a close crop.

Well done!

Nice capture. I seen one the other day. By the time I had stopped the car, got the camera out, sorted out the settings, I'd forgotten what I was taking a picture of.............. not really, it had flown away

Re: Bird in flight

Hey...it's great.

I have trouble gettich bird shots when they are sat on a twig motionless. to get one in flight like that is just a dream for me.

Be proud of it!

Re: Bird in flight

It does look as though this is a very severe crop judging by the noise in the sky.

It is always difficult to capture these birds because the distance they are from you is very deceptive and our eyes tend to zoom in on them and it is not until you get the image home that the realisation of how small the subject is in the frame becomes obvious.

This is a good attempt though as there does not appear to be any camera shake but I would try running it through some noise filters and re-sharpening slightly afterwards.

You have proved that your sensor is clean though no nasty splodges. Now if that was taken with my old 20D which is in dire need of a sensor clean, I would be spending a fair bit of time with the clone tool.

Thanks Steve for the advise I have been playing around with noise filters and re-sharpening tools, and on my screen it look a little better, but after seeing the two together on flickr, i'm not sure

And the same treatment without the crop
