HELP I think my Fuji Finepix is broke-Focus Error.

I have the Fuji Finepix S5600. Was working fine whilst taking pictures today until suddenly i zoomed in, it went really out of focus and then after taking some more pictures [which all turned out blurry] the message came up on the camera screen beeping FOCUS ERROR.and i can't take pictures. And I have NO idea what to do.
Is it broken or is there something I can do to sort it?
Or..?
Help, im lost already without it!

I feel sick just thinking about being without the camera.

Is it still within 12 months old? If so you should be able to get it fixed quite easily.
Can't tell what the problem might be really..

How frustrating. Sounds like it could be a sensor problem? I take it you haven't bashed the camera or anything? A firmware update may fix it before you spend money having it taken apart.

It sounds like you were using it on autofocus. Have you tried manual focus? If it works with that then it probably is the sensor or the motherboard at fault.

In camera terms it is not that an expensive camera to buy. I would suspect it would be cheaper to buy a new one than repair. Just googled that make and they are selling for around £100 give or take a few pounds.

So if it is out of warantee either first get an estimate for repair or buy new would be my advice.
