Please understand where I live Suzy. I am in a valley with the Cascade Mountains to my West going downhill to sea level on the coast. That's 3 micro-climates in a 70 mile stretch. It was foggy during the drive to the coast & bright & sunny on the coast I was still 18 miles from the coast going downhill from Camp 18. It's normal for the temperature to vary as much as 45 degrees in that 70 stretch. Here's the coast 20 minutes from Camp 18 that same morning.
