Re: Sensor cleaning kit

Haylee if it is on the mirror it is not on the sensor. You cannot see the sensor unless the shutter is open in which case the mirror flips up. You may be seeing dust on the mirror or the focusing screen which is annoying but won't affect the image.

Don't take this the wrong way but you don't seem to have a great knowledge of the workings of the camera. All I mean by that is if you aren't really sure what you are doing, read up and find out before you do any damage. Dust can be blown off using a 'rocket blower', about £6-7 at Amazon. if your sensor is dirty, either get a professional clean, or best learn how to do it yourself...pec pads and eclipse fluid. cheapest is not always best.

Re: Sensor cleaning kit

Am assuming that the sensor is dirty as the mirror is as I am unware of it's history I want to give it a clean any how. I know cheapest isn't the best which is why I have posted asking for advice on this particular product before I make a mistake of killing my camera. I plan to ask a pro tog to teach me rather than doing it my self, which would be disastor. And this would come in handy to have it and know how to do it when and if my sensor becomes dirty .

Re: Sensor cleaning kit

Just check the fluid is compatable with your sensor. Some nikon sensors d300 etc are tin oxide. Not sure about the D200, and the fluid has to match the sensor. You will need to check it is compatable.

You can see how to clean your sensor on youtube. It's not difficult, just have to make sure you work carefully and quickly, and that your battery is good to keep the shutter open.

Re: Sensor cleaning kit

There comes a time when I ask myself "should I actually bother to type anything that may be of help"

I wrote a long article on what how why and where to learn on a previous thread which it seems has been totally overlooked.

Link

I would suggest that HH should read some posts first and possible might actually discover something useful instead of asking questions that have already been covered.
