Garden bird hide :D

Karl and I built a hide in the garden today! I am chuffed to bits with it - it hasn't upset the birds at all - so I am hoping we have nice weather so I can try it out tomorrow. We have a load of mature shrubs and strategically placed sticks next to it - and loads of feeders - so wish me luck!

We had an old A-Frame for a set of swings in the garden, and we basically covered it with tarpaulin - and it works a treat!

Re: Garden bird hide :D

Was just thinking I should post some Phil!

This is it, with the feeding station (bad shot, just a quick snap with the bigma, hand held at dusk - not so good! hehe) - and I know the bird table is lopsided - it wouldn't be ours if it wasn't scruffy! The twigs you can see poking out of the bush at the back are where I've been shooting so far, and the holes for the lenses are around the other side of the hide. I may put one in the same side as the feeders at some point, but at the moment it's fine

Re: Garden bird hide :D

I wasn't expecting blue !

I suppose the birds will just get used to it being there.

Re: Garden bird hide :D

They were within minutes! Seriously, loads of them! I was very surprised. They seem to have no problem with it at all, or its slightly noisy flapping!
