Nikon 18-200m lens price jump
Current Lowest Price: £469.99 20/01/2010
Best Lowest Price: £278.39 14/10/2009
Worst Lowest Price: £517.00 22/05/2009
Taken from Camera price buster site. How on earth can a jump from £278.39 in October last year to the present price of £469.99 be justified? Both quotes at the lowest price, Talk about ripping the public off !! a jump of £191.35 in 4 months even allowing for VAT increase .

Even the nifty fifty, which was fast heading towards the £50 mark a couple of years ago is up to about £80 now
I guess they will all come down again, but it is going to take a long time to get back to what they were.

Simples, it's all to do with exchange rate fluctuation.
I would imagine those prices are based on the Dollar to the Pound, but just think about the Pound to the Euro and what you had last year in your pocket when you went on holiday in Europe, or the year before and what you have now, and then apply that to what you're buying!
