Re: Some ratty portraits

Really? What about them stands out to you? 11 and 13 I'd see as snapshots see - and I'm curious as to what people like/don't like so I can see where I can improve, since this is a major area of photography for me

I think for me number 10 is one of my favourites, and one of the ones I've been most happy with over the last few months.

Re: Some ratty portraits

No 11 has made me smile, is Switch insanely huge, or is it my imagination?

No7 Is a great shot, what are trying to do, if showcasing their colouring then, the shots where they are more side on work better, but I do love shots like the first, when they look less scary to me. I really like 11, as they look like they are just hanging out, though I am in shock how big Switch appears to be.

Re: Some ratty portraits

Thanks all, input gratefully received. Not sure what I'm going for with them as such, they are photos for my website by and large, so to show them off as attractive examples of their varieties is nice, but the main key is to show their type (shape) off, and also to show them as expressive, cheeky and intelligent pets.

I think the only one here (of the more formal types) that I would say shows the colour/variety well, is number 10 actually. DOF makes a big difference, and I have a thing about shallow DOF *ahem*. I reckon I should do more to the side, but then I'm never happy with those because they don't show ears/eyes etc off as well as I'd like. Hmm... not easy!

Still, I'm happy with most of them anyway

Oooh - and Switch looks huge because of being next to Findlay. If you look at 13 you can see he's the same size as his brother Forz. Fin and Zoot are still just babies really

Re: Some ratty portraits

What wonderful characters, I love Zoot & Switch they look so cute, but I bet they are all nice and have their own personalities.

As to the pictures, I prefer the style of 11, 12 where they or looking over the top of the cage, I'm not so keen on the plain white BG's.
