Some birds from yesterday :)

Well... yesterday is my first time using the camera (other than in house rat pics with lots of breaks) for over 2 months I think... and I'm feeling the burn a bit. I did a bit too much walking with the big lens too - and it started to get a bit achey by the Fulmar shots... also, not the best terrain for walking on either. Still, I'm not too displeased all things considered - not my best photos, but not bad considering I could hardly hold the camera through weakness. Annnnyway - enough waffle - here they are Go gentle, I'm very fragile!

Fulmar:




Spoonbill - these guys have wintered here, and been here over half a year now, maybe they'll breed and stay for good! :




(disclaimer - I left the tag on the Spoonbill because it identifies that individual bird - it's the Timoleague Spoonbill - so I like it to remain as such! )

? :/ which one? *confused* - do you mean the spoonbills? They're meant to be like that (hence the name!) - you should look them up on RSPB website - and listen to the incredible noise they make - make sure your volume is up though! ;D

You done well, those are nice captures. The beaks of the fulmars look quite sharp, wouldn't want a finger caught in one of those

Phil, just thought, perhaps you mean the Fulmars? They're tubenoses, and also are meant to look like that

Oooh I did... if only I'd only taken four shots and not had to climb a bleedin' mountain the sweltering heat to get a photo of the Fulmar!

I think you did really well with the exposure on the Fulmars, with them in the shade and the flowers in the sun. I didn't realise you got Spoonbills there!?
