Around the site of the old Roman Town of Caistor St Edmund

We started off in dull weather walking around the banks and walls of the old Roman Town of Caistor St Edmunds, a 10 acre site started in 200AD. This was part of a 6.25 mile walk on, in the main, remarkably well maintained paths. One of the local farmers was obviously heavily into wildlife conservation. There were two large areas where he had planted and left for the birds for the winter Sunflowers and some 10 other seed bearing plants. Fantastic.

1) These Northern walls were upto 23 feet in height when built and still substantial constructions.

2) The western bank. The ditch is to the far left of the picture. To the right is part of the 10 acre Roman Town site.

3) Autumn leaves

4) The sort of farmer I like, we saw three large fields like this.

5) The sun comes out.

Thanks Azz, 45 views and the only one to post. I wouldn't mind if people said they were 'naff', as long as they gave me constructive advice on improving. Starting to lose heart with the lack of posts. I have noticed however it is not just my shots.
