Re: My daily photos!

Sunday's challenge was Wool, New, and Purple.
I didn't do a pic, I done a poem, with words and punctuation and everything...

*Clears throat, strikes dramatic pose....*

The Northern Shepherd

The challenges. Woollen, and purple and new.
Challenge accepted, lets see, what to do?
It's a quiet cloudy Sunday. So, if I've the time
I'll try and encompass the themes, but in rhyme.

I've not had much coffee, my mind isn't supple yet,
So this won't be too fancy, just plain rhyming couplet.
I've wasted enough time, so on with the show!
Our story starts off in the cold Yorkshire snow

Where a cold Yorkshire shepherd, lacking cold Yorkshire sleep
Was trying to locate his cold Yorkshire sheep.
It honestly was quite a hard thing to do
'cos the snow was all white, and the sheep were white too.

His breath was white also and condensed in the air
As he muttered, in Yorkshire "This is really not fair"
The most valuable wool on a sheep flock was white,
And they blended so well with the snow, which was sh...ocking...

And then, in a flash came a brilliant idea!
A plan that would stop this whole problem next year.
He danced and he frolicked and chuckled with glee
And of course it would celebrate the Queen's Jubilee.

Now, I'll tell you quite quietly as he sleeps through the night.
He was strong and determined, but he wasn't that bright...
But the spring came, and summer, he plotted and planned
He'd have the most Royalest sheep in the land.

So, fast forward then to the sheep dipping season,
(You have to dip sheep, and the unpleasant reason
is that their skin and wool gets infested with flies)
Our smart Northern shepherd mixed sheepdip with dyes.

But he was quite specific, he knew what to do.
At the shallow end red, middle nothing, then blue
A Union sheep, that was the idea.
But things didn't go right, as it soon became clear.

He'd not thought it through, and any young twerp'll
Tell you that red mixed with blue will make purple.
And, well, lets be fair. At least he would know
Where his bright purple sheep were in next winter's snow...

Re: My daily photos!

Today's: Close up, smooth and purple.
What could be smoother than a nice cup of hot chocolate?

Re: My daily photos!

Dragon, white, artificial light.

Here's a dragon puggle hatching unexpectedly in the hands of a Field Wizard. In my mind...

Lit by on-camera flash, balanced by an overhead remote strobe, hand held to remove the hard shadows that close-up and on-camera flash produce
