Re: Wind Thingies

Great shot Stanokella, especially like the way the sun's rays shine on the forground grasses. Lovely colours too.

Re: Wind Thingies

Thanks folks, was a little experiment in creating a fake sunset

Here is the original:

Oh and the title is a private joke, my nephew is a project director for a wind farm company, and that is my description of what his company puts up. Amuses me no end!!!

Re: Wind Thingies

You have got to be kidding! I loved the original posting and wondered if it was a combination of differently exposed images, but now that you have revealed the original I am just amazed.

Please post some descriptive advice about how you achieved the effect.

EFS 55-250 IS II

Re: Wind Thingies

Not too complicated:

Darken the foreground with a soft brush on a opacity around 10%

Add some yellow to the sky with a yellow/golden brush again around 10%

A new black layer, add a lens flare this will act as the sun. Gaussian blur to make it softer.

On the black layer with a golden colour brush out from the flare to create the rays and across the horizon. Linear burn (add) as the blend mode. Duplicate this layer and set blend mode to screen.

Adjust levels and curves on the pic till looks right.
