Awesome sunset! The greys work well with the oranges

Can't say I ever saw a sunset like that in Blackpool

nice capture. What settings did you have in camera in your D300 for this shot? Did you use a filter to avoid burning out the sun? Is it a single image or a composition?

It all works very well. Good job.

Cheers folks

It's a 9 shot hdr JR, exposed manually for the sand and then 1 stop bracket with 4 above and 4 below. No filter, can't use them on the 14-24mm

I used a cokin set of slide-in filters on my 10-20, wouldnt that work for the 14?

What program do you stack your pictures in - photomatix pro?

There is no screw thread on the lens, the bayonet hood is permanently fixed as the end of the lens so so bulbous!

Yeah I use photomatix, and then usually blend in some of the shots used to tone map into the final image particularly if there was any movement.
