Your Unmarked Grave II

Okay, I had planned to save this one for my website update, but **** that. No one visits my website anyways!

I think this is my favourite from the shoot I had with Your Unmarked Grave yesterday.

Please give me some feedback on this one. Really stoked on it considering it's my first real band shoot

Check them out at www.myspace.com/yourunmarkedgrave

I love this. Knocks spots off the first one - and I am sure the band will love it too. Excellent work!

Re: Your Unmarked Grave II

I much prefer this one.

Wasn't the first one 50mm ???

Asume you're at the wider end with 24-70 with this - the low angle and the perspective make it quite striking. Lighting is great as ever.

Re: Your Unmarked Grave II

I think it's great too

As it's a band shoot, I would consider cropping in more, so the main focus is the band - there are a few elements there which work great in the picture but do draw you away from the band. Ie the building top right and grass btm left. But it still works - just depends on what you want from the image.

Re: Your Unmarked Grave II

I have to agree to disagree slightly withy ou there Azz - I feel that (certainly for me) the beams and the grasses draw me into the picture and then to the band - my eye doesn't wander with it at all!

I do see what you're saying though, and it could be interesting to see a closer crop.

Re: Your Unmarked Grave II

Usually the marketing (and ego!) of bands is to make them the focus of attention really does depend on what the creative director wants to achieve with the image.

One thing I forgot to say earlier - Tommy, you come up with some great locations!

Re: Your Unmarked Grave II

I like the composition, but I agree with Azz to a degree. I would certainly consider losing the building on the right hand side and cropping the first top beam to give a tighter shot of the band. Personally I think the grass on the LH side works...

Great location to find snow this time of year

Re: Your Unmarked Grave II

Thanks guys!

But I must say I completely disagree with you on the cropping. On this wide angle shot I wanted to show off that great, somewhat unique location. I'm going to upload a couple more shots later today or tomorrow
