I had to run my wife down to Newbury the other day, so I decided to take a walk around the nature reserve at Thatcham.

An amazing day of wall to wall sunshine.

A few from the canal:

What a lovely looking place Ken. Those canal locks have just brought back so many happy childhood memories.

Re: Thatcham Nature park & reedbeds

Thanks guys, it was a wonderful walk although I am nursing a bit of a cold at the moment I still enjoyed it.

Dave, I'm pleased it has had a positive effect for you, next time I go to Stoke Brueme I'll take a few canal shots for you Dave

Hey, Laura I took a picture of this board for you, sorry could not get it all in, I had the fixed 100mm lens on at the time and I would have to have stood in the canal to get it all in the shot :

Lovely rich habitat Ken, plenty biodiversity i think, rom the board i can see both Bittern and Hobby, Reed and Sedge Warblers. I expect its great for Dragonflies and Amphibians, my kind of place.
