Phil, that's a GREAT capture. Composition is spot on, clarity, clours, all perfect. Good background editing too.

As an aside, the Peregrine has special baffles inside it's nostrils which reduce the air-rush into it's lungs - without which the lungs would expand with force, and POP!

Thanks for all the kind comments although I think it's a Lanner Falcon NOT a peregrine ????????

I tried a few different crops before settling for this.

The full shot had a few shabby feathers and only half of one yellow foot. In the end I chopped the whole lower bit of the picture as I felt the one yellow area (face) stood out better against the swathe of blue/grey feathers.

I had to clone out a wooden rail and a blurred water bowl and some of the white feathers needed a few adjustments.

I'd planned to show the original but I've overwritten it.
