Flatford and the R. Stour.

We have this week off on holiday and have decided the weather won't stop us having days out.

1) You may just recognise this place. Clue is J.C.

2) Tea room and visitors shop.

3) The Lock at Flatford.

The next 3 shots are where I tried to have some fun with the turbulent water.

4)

5)

Lovely stuff Richard these look like such lovely spots, I'm surprised Cakey has dropped in with a fishing comment

Re: Flatford and the R. Stour.

The sun would brighten us all up I'm sure and make photography a little easier. The only bonus to the dull day yesterday, and the fact we were there about 4.30pm, was the lack of people.

Great to see these Richard, we have only a few examples of thatched roofs up here.

Re: Flatford and the R. Stour.

Wow amazing Richard, I recognised the place instantly...........I am of course assuming this is the House in The Haywain painting by John Constable?

One of my favourite landscape painters and one of my favourite paintings, thanks very much for taking the time to post these pictures up.
Amazing British Heritage captured right there!

Of course; if it isn't anything to do with The Haywain I'm going to feel quite daft

Re: Flatford and the R. Stour.

Thanks for the confirmation on location Richard.

It's photos like these and many others that makes this forum so interesting, the international members and the varied subjects posted adds so much more than just the great photography, theres equal pleasure in being able to see such variety in the subject matters.

Cheers,

Tony
