Considering I shot this at F/2.8 it turned out sharp as a tack. I actually had a chap from South Africa aghast hearing I put a Quantaray Pro UV filter on this lens. He thought it was too cheap, not being a Leica or Nikon filter, to get any sharp pictures. I laughed in his general direction. I've been using this brand of filter for many years and told him my photos are my proof.

Re: First Photo with the 24-70

Another cracker of Wilbur Bob - hope he's well.

I can see (based on what you've shown in the past) that you will make good use of being able to go to f2.8

As with the Canon 24-70 f2.8 L - there's no IS (VR with Nikon) but that f2.8 has it's advantages. I love the 24-105 f4 L IS but I hardly ever go near f4 never mind f2.8 (as I want deep dof) and the IS comes into its own if shooting video. I suspect I'll wait till I get a new body before deciding which to keep. A new body may have video but I rarely need the f2.8 speed to focus on a lens of that length as it tends to be landscapes rather than people etc. Like everybody - I'd like speed on a long lens for wildlife and birdies but that's where photography becomes silly.
Kit 1

Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
