Re: my First Family portrait session!!!!!!

Good effort Finney. My only gripe... the lightstand on the first is distracting. You may want to consider cloneing it out??

Nice stuff Mr Finney Hope your Mrs Finney is well now

Like them and I agree with the others about the lamp, and perhaps investing in some lighting and a backdrop, but you can't buy that set before I do!

Re: my First Family portrait session!!!!!!

As they were sitting on a black seat I would have asked those wearing black to change into something a different colour. The man on the front left, his shoulder has no outline definition. Also with them wearing black against a white background your camera has to work at both ends of the colour spectrum.

As the photographer and being paid for the work they are relying on you to produce the best photo possible, therefore they should be looking for your guidance.

The others have already mentioned the other things I would have pointed out so I will to repeat them.

I suppose it just wouldn't be possible for a resit for another family photo to be taken with what has been advised?

Re: my First Family portrait session!!!!!!

Think you have done an excellent job, I would be terrified, but you seem to have bought the best out of you subjects and then done a workman like job.

Will not repeat the problems pointed out by others and now I am sure evident to you, but would like to add what a nice looking family well worth your efforts.
