Re: Waving, not drowning.

Thanks Lostnspace.

Was hoping someone might offer advice on how I could have improved the shot.

Yeah...any advice or comment on my shot anyone?

Did I post in the wrong place to get critique? Am well bamboozled by this site.

Re: Waving, not drowning.

I'll try and offer some critique in the short bit of time I have!

I think it's a very interesting shot, but to me the glove is not quite the focus enough - also, although it works well in mono, I think you could have made more of that by tweaking the colours and levels - as at the moment it's all a bit of a uniform grey. I think perhaps increase brightness and sharpness on the oil lamps too, which may draw the eye to them a little more if that's what you'd like

Can you post the original? Are you happy for us to do edits? I'd like to have a play about if you can!

xx

Re: Waving, not drowning.

That's really kind of you Zoundz. I will try and post up the original when I get home. If I get home. We have snow on the line. :/

Re: Waving, not drowning.

Actually it looks much better straight out of the camera as the tones of the glove and brickwork pick each other up.

Seems I was trying too hard to be artistic.lol

Re: Waving, not drowning.

See you have tried the mono memory cards out. I use them now and again too!

Nicely composed and exposed, good to see b,ack and white in a black and white not just grey!
