Silverstone Classic 2012

Popped up to a crowded Silverstone track today, managed to get a burnt arm (just not used to this sun). I've not really had time to go through them or do any PP, so this is just a rushed shot with minimal PP:

Kit 1
1DSmkIII & 1DmkIV
Canon EF70-200L f/2.8 IS
Canon EF100L macro f/2.8 IS
Canon EF85L f/1.2 mkII
Canon EF24-105L f/4 IS
Canon EF300L f/2.8 IS
Canon EF17-40L f/4
Other Kit

Classic looking cars Ken, very appealing on the eye.

Re: Silverstone Classic 2012

Great photos Ken, beautifully captured. Looks like it was a perfect day given the quality of entrants and the weather.

All those are very nice cars, but the silver 250 GT SWB is very special indeed.

Edited to add, a quick google of it's history backs up my suspicions of it's racing pedigree and importance.
Eye watering when you think about it, the cost of buying an old classic such as the 250 you see racing there, will not be too far away from the cost of a current front running F1 car.
That's what makes it so special to see owners still using them as intended.

Cheers,

Tony

Thanks Tony, thought of you when I popped up there as I know your a bit of a petrol head too. There were so many lovely cars out on track and they really race them hard, you love watching it but you can't help thinking they should be preserved as well
