Re: Lord Bishop Rocks

Really was it that dark?! I thought the images looked a bit pushed. It is sort of beyond the accepted capabilities of the D300s tbh, but at least you have workable images. Tbh you have done well then.

I like some of the images on the links. I liked 'Dave', some nice grungy images, clearly a performer, a musician in fullflow, and the band. Think one or two of those I'd be tempted to make the cloudy grey blacks more black, and I'm not sure I like all those blurred,'movement' images. Might be tempted not to post so many, just 2 or 3 of the very best. Again, only the opinion of me which means nothing, others have said they really like the whole set.

Re: Lord Bishop Rocks

That's fine, TBH, I do very much value your opinion BC as you always capture such fabulous people shots I'm learning still!

Yes, De Barra can occasionally push you to the limits! :/ Dave Arcari was far far less dark than Lord Bishop - and much more of a showman (at least this time!). I always look back over shots and think about how I'd change what I've done. I'd like to shoot Dave again, as he's just fantastic! And looking back I'm just not as happy with what I got as I'd like to be!

Re: Lord Bishop Rocks

Interesting thread guys and some decent results considering the circumstances. My ISO only goes to 1600 and isn't really usable at that !

Re: Lord Bishop Rocks

Sorry, I agree with most of what BC said, but I know how hard these types of assignments can be, as I've done a few myself, so I've used fill flash but stopped down half a stop or so. This way I've got the movement blur but with a sharp image included, if that makes sense

Re: Lord Bishop Rocks

It makes perfect sense! Thanks for the tip!

As I said, unfortunately, Mr Bishop was not moving very much - in fairness, he had done 28 shows in 27 days... he was probably broken!
