Glasses

A photo of glasses on a windowsill I took this morning. Its unedited - how can I improve it? Also would it look better with less of 'necks' in? I like the idea but not so sure about the photo...

Re: Glasses

If it were my photo I'd leave it just like that. It's well composed, interesting, has a focal point, is well focused and an overall great photo.

Re: Glasses

I like the idea.

Polo, your picture is a nice concept and interesting. there are a few things I feel you could do to add interest.

I've edited your original in PhotoShop CS3 - to give you an idea.

The first one I have cropped your picture to give balance on both sides of the image. in your original you have an imbalance of spare green space left of your furthest left rear glass - personally I find the space distracting as it draws the eye across to it. By cropping it the focus remains on the glasses.

Second of all I have added contrast and sharpened your original - it was looking slightly overwashed. I've then adjusted the levels and saturated the greens - particularly the area of detail within the stems.

I finished by adding a frame to enclose the image and present it as a very pleasing picture.

The second one I've conpleted the same procedures as the colour one, and then converted it to B&W.

I'd happily put either of these on my dining room/kitchen wall.

I hope they are alright for you.
