Minor Breeds Spaniel Mock Trial (lots of images)

Hi

Thought I would post a few photos of a recent mock trial organised by the Working Clumber Spaniel Society. Weather started off really bright and sunny with hardly any breeze but clouded over slightly as the day proceded but it remained dry and calm.

Spaniels of the Welsh, Sussex and Clumber variety were there, Oh and I forgot one Springie thing





















A great day was had by everyone and a lot was learnt. I must admit I get a great deal of enjoyment from photographing this type of thing as I am close up to the judges and can learn a lot from what they have to say to the competitors.

Some great shots, especially with the lovely Autumn light and foilage. My fave is the no3 and then no8. Sussex Spaniels are terribly cute, are they considered a rare British breed too?

I am partial to a bit of Pheasant, haven't had it for awhile though

AAH poor birdies, happily flying about without a care in the world doing what birdies do best. Along come some nasty men and shoot them in mid flight, so sad.

Bet they tasted nice.

Can you send a few over here, need to do some training with Carmen as she was a bit off after her season and isn't going gundog training on Sunday, boo hoo!

Great pics Steve. I loved the intensity and fierce competition of Field Trials - but at a much faster pace than the minor breeds!
