Paal Portrait
This one here is my buddy Paal "Jefen" Brekka in Mayrhofen, Austria in January, 2009. One sick trip for sure. I had 22 tequila shots and 3 jeager bombs in one hour. Then I passed out. It was 7 o'clock in the evening! Woke up in my bed at 3:30 in the morning in my own puke. Pleasant surprise
Nikon F80 with 50 f/1.4 on it. Loaded with Velvia 100.

Hmm, not so sure about this one, it *is* a bold image, but I agree with Phil about the depth of field (DOF ). I think the mountains should either be in focus, or not - but this halfway house is a little distracting, and for my eyes at least, has the added effect of making the subject look a little fuzzy - I have to almost re-adjust my eyes to see him not fuzzy - even when viewed full. It's a pretty contrasty image too - so that could be part of it.
Punchy colours though, and what a lovely setting!

I didn't really care if you had hand drawn it, or lifted it from somewhere else, I was only pointing out that the effect you had created appealed to me.

Once again, it's not an effect. It's color slide (I think it's called) so when I scan the negatives I get the whole frame and everything.

What you have scanned is actually the colour slide. That makes sense now.
