Blink bridge

I've been experimenting with tones in B&W photos and thought nearby Blink bridge would be good cause of its rivets.I assume its called this cause if you blink-you'll miss it!

Riveting...

Taken 19th October 2007 (yesterday)

Taken in the mid 1920's when railway was still operational on same bridge (obviously not by me-this line closed to passengers in 1931!)

You've certainly got good "tones" and contrast going on.

I'm trying to work out what part of the bridge is the beam in the first picture

The rivetted beam is on the top inbetween where both sets of rails were originally. Its an old Victorian bridge and welding hadnt been invented so everything was rivetted!

Re: Blink bridge

Talking of rivetts, I'm popping down the road soon with my pal (photodave) to take some of the Forth Bridge. That is a miracle of a structure.
