Re: Dreamer's Bay

WoW! the light is superb, and the water looks so inviting, apart from the sharp rock

What a beautiful place,, great picture Jack. Dreamer's Bay is the perfect name for the place

The light you have there is magical I love the way the wood is pulling you into the picture.

Re: Dreamer's Bay

The first one is great Jack. Love the light, colour, composition & I think the shutter speed on the water works really well.

From a personal point of view (wide angle fan) I like the second one and the bit of driftwood helps show the angle. Falls short of the first one though (in my humble opinion) as I think the sky has blown a bit on the highlights and there is a fair bit of noise. I'm guessing the light was lower ?

Re: Dreamer's Bay

Your right Phil - light was fading fast - shooting into the remaining sun at ISO 1600.

dreamer is the right word for it
i love both of them but the first is my fave because the exposure is just right and the blurry sea have added that dreamy landscape

Re: Dreamer's Bay

What an awe inspiring place makes you hold your breath. Love both shots the first because you seem to have captured the magical feel of the place and the second because I am daft about driftwood and the way the light plays on the sea.

Re: Dreamer's Bay

Thanks all - I rather like the first one - and I think I have another of the 2nd one too - when it's dark I usually bracket my pictures for exposure, so I will have an underexposed and an overexposed version, so it should be easy to photomerge in PS to get a correctly exposed picture of number two.

Claire - on my 10-20 I always use a 77mm circ polariser.
