New camera

I decided to treat myself to a new camera. I wanted to be able to take low angle shots and be able to better zoom in to long range shots without losing too much detail, so I came up with this - A Nikon d5100 with a swivel screen.

The camera boasts a 16.2 mpx sensor which is way better than the 10mpx of my old D60.

Anyway, the extra megapixels coupled with my sigma 400mm lens,

produced these, on a cold winter's day.

Taken at 250 - 300 yards.

This was taken at something like 450 - 500 yards.

These were taken at something in the region of 30 yards.

Kit 1
Nikon D60
Nikkor 18-55mm
Tamron 300mm
Sigma 400mm

Re: New camera

I have the same camera, I've had it about 4-5 months and really like it. Wish I had the same lens, excellent results.

Re: New camera

Thanks for the comments guys. This set up is all I expected. The extra mega-pixels, together with the 400mm is proving to be a winning combination.

The reach that is really beyond the 400mm can be reached in post processing with the density of pixels, without having to buy a converter.
