Arria and Stirling bridge

Stirling bridge and the Wallace monument in the background . The original wooden bridge in which the battle of 1297 was fought was a little further down river.

Incidentally, a carpenter by the name of John Wright was ordered to remove pins from the bridge to collapse it after half the English forces had crossed it.
Thereafter all first born sons of the Wright family were nicknamed "Pin" until the line ran out in 1900

Re: Arria and Stirling bridge

Great stuff.

I pass Arria quite a bit but unfortunately never seem to find the time (en route to work) to try some photography. The b&w version works really well.

The Stirling bridge shot is great but can't decide whether it could do with straightening up a bit ?

I'd like to go back and photograph Arria in the early morning Sun. I could only get her in silhouette from the front when we were there just before sunset a few days ago.
If you need the exact location on how to get there Phil let me know and I'll
send you details. You can park your car right next to her.

I could not make up my mind either if it needed a slight angle adjustment
The Wallace monument in the background looks a little off but the bridge seems to be level.

To be honest I cannot decide whether I like any of these shots, hence posting in "just sharing" section to see what others thought.

Another few
