Flower and Fly (and Aphids!)
Quite happy with these - since my op I find using the macro lens and the D300s an immense physical struggle 
hopefully my strength will come back soon - but for now my pictures leave much to be desired soooo lost most of this summer with insect photography, however, I was happy enough with these from yesterday - though the aphids were so hard I had to lie down after!

Aphids could have had a better DOF - but I think that was at like f22 or something!

Re. the two top pics being slightly different colours - that was purposeful, edited like it after, to see which I preferred - and I still don't know, the first I think!

Is it my imagination (or monitor) but both colours look a bit washed out to me?? they don't look vibrant or natural? I calibrated my monitor in the week so it could be me?? The yellow flowers btw, the aphids and stalk look ok.

They don't look washed out here, they look as they did IRL? :/ but then, my monitor is not calibrated, so I couldn't say - but they look to me as they do in the garden
You say the flowers, aphids and stalk look ok - so what do you think is washed out? The backgrounds?

Well done Zoundz - I know how frustrating it is when it's a physical struggle to use the camera. It's good that your cracking on with it though and hopefully things will start to get easier for you.
With regards to your top two 'different' pics - I also prefer the first one as the colour just has that bit more punch to it. The second has a slightly 'pastel' feel to it ?
Aphids - eugh - I hate them. I can see where you're coming from regarding the dof but hey ho - just keep getting out there.

Thanks Phil That's what I was trying to achieve with the two flower pics, but I prefer the first two I desaturated a couple of the colours in the second a tiny bit, and I'm not sure about it. It looked OK in PS - I really liked it - but then compared to the first it just looks washed out!
Aphids are gross, and all over our Cayenne and Bell peppers!
