Cat on the street of Abu Dhabi. Borrowed a Nikon 24-120mm whilst there. Good walk around lens. ISO 320, 1/160, f10

that's quite a striking image - well spotted. I do think the whole picture is tied well together and the monochrome suits it perfectly.
If I had to offer critique it would be to have removed the weed under the down-pipe as its a little distracting. Although not so much as to detract from the overall aesthetics of the image.

Love it! The whole image works so well and so many levels!
Im not so sure about the weed? I look at it and think its a nice addition, but on the otherhand, its competing with the cat. I think maybe, to keep the balance, clone it out.

I love the weed in it 
It mirrors the cat perfectly, life on life, and on one hand shows what made that life possible (the drain pipe).

my first thoughts re the weed before seeing others comments were it adds to the photo, two living things either side of the corner. i like it

Thanks for the comments. I changed this to monochrome partly because of the weed which was an imposing green and I don't feel I had the skills to remove it suitably!
JR, it's not from my archive. It was taken last week when I was in Abu Dhabi. I just flew back.

I'm in the 'keep the weed' party. As others have said it mirrors the cat. I also like the way it's sprouted up underneath the downpipe. Pehaps there's just enough moisture to live there.

The first question I ask of any photograph is where are my eyes drawn. This is one interesting photo, well exposed, well composed & with an excellent title and subject.
