An assortment of macro stuff from Friday :)

Just a few shots from Friday - I was shooting in RAW, and was rather happy with the results I got. Especially the hoverflies. I loved the lines and the way it provides a sharp and striking sort of contrast...

Those hoverflies are beautifully sharp with fabulous detail. I love all the pollen dust on the bee in 8 - like he has been having a good rummage in the flowers!

Re: An assortment of macro stuff from Friday :)

Thank you both - I was really pleased with these! - although looking back on them, I'm not happy with 6 - the DOF is not right.

Re: An assortment of macro stuff from Friday :)

Nice shots.

I know I keep saying this but I'd love a macro lens.

So often I'm limited by the weather or time to go and do what I want to do but there's a whole world just in my garden which I could get into. The butterflies are about as small as I can go (minimum focus distance) really with my lenses.

Re: An assortment of macro stuff from Friday :)

Having seen your butterfly shots, I think you would make the most of a good macro lens. It's an expensive thing to shell out on if you're not sure though. There's a canon lens I'd love actually!

Re: An assortment of macro stuff from Friday :)

This I believe (didn't post in my first post as I couldn't find it! ) - may not be this one, but I am 99% sure it is.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canon_M...-5x_Macro_lens

That is worth getting a Canon for - alongside my Nikons! That said, does anyone know how the lens converters work? I saw some advertised...
