YOP business cards

I was considering creating some business cards promoting Yo Photography, in PDF format, so that members can download and print, to give out to fellow toggers when out and about.

I have run this idea past Azz and he is in agreement, if the members are.

So what are your views?

Re: YOP business cards

Sounds like a good idea Jeff

We thought of doing laminated ID cards (to pin on your jacket while out togging) a while ago, but never found anywhere cheap enough with the quality we had in mind.

Self-printable business-type cards sound great tho - because anyone wanting them can print them out themselves.

We could probably adapt this design (remove photo, include profile url and maybe a tag line)

Happy to sort a new design out if that's what you guys want

Re: YOP business cards

This is the sort of thing I had in mind, Azz.

Nothing specific, just promoting the site. Of course you could have the picture and wording of your choice.

Tamron 300mm

Re: YOP business cards

Yeah - we could add a 'slot' for a photo of your choice if you like

Btw, you can find your profile ID by just going to your profile and then taking the number and adding it to the end of:

http://yophotographer.com/member/

So yours would be:

Kit 1
Nikon D300
Nikon 55-200mm VR
Kit 2
Nikon D40
Nikon 18-55mm

Re: YOP business cards

So that means that the member who wants to use this would have to have a program that was capable of editing a PDF file.

Once done, how and where would you want the template stored?

Re: YOP business cards

I don't think it has to be a PDF file - a high quality jpeg should be fine, then almost everyone here should be able to edit their details into it

Re: YOP business cards

Not quite sure what you mean there Azz.

I have done this business card in a desk-top publishing package and, once converted to PDF, will produce a page like this.

The beauty of this, is that nine copies can be printed at the same time.

Word should be able to read and edit a PDF file, so the photograph can be changed for something personal, together with the ID number in the URL.

The photograph I used was merely to demonstrate the lay-out of the card. Nothing on the card is definitive and can be changed to suit how Azz wants Yo Photographer presented.

In a previous post, I have stated that the choice of photograph and the wording is Azz's, as this is his site and down to him, based presumably on the consensus of the members.

Considering yours is the first post from a member, I think this is indicative of the interest that is held by the membership as a whole.

Therefore, I withdraw my offer to design a business card.

Re: YOP business cards

Great idea!!

Have to say when I see people wearing ID cards it makes me think they are wearing them incase they forget who they are.
