Very much so Azz.

This particular owl will fly towards you if you whistle.

If you stand under the tree where he is in the first picture he'll swoop down and land right above your head. I tried (and failed) a few times to photograph him 'in flight' as my little camera kept firing too late.

Bet you gave out owls of delight when you first saw the pictures.

Re: Great Grey Owl

Nice shots Phil, I really like the top two and personally don't mind that the compact blew out the sky. Not so keen on the third but that is more for the background than anything else (not something you could control).

The P&S coped well!

Re: Great Grey Owl

Thanks Phil, they are great shots, think todays P & S are very good and some even give scope for the photographer to add his own input.

Re: Great Grey Owl

Phil, a friend of mine is a falconer, he uses Owls for weddings - he whistles and one flies down from the rafters to deliver the rings to the best man during the ceremony! LOL
