Love the last pic, its been captured really well and I would be happy to get my pics look half as good. Great work

Some nice shots in this set.

The sky is great in the first picture although this teqhnique has left the building a bit flat. I like where you've placed it in the frame though.

I like the rich colour on the tower in shot 2 and unlike the first one there's some shape to it in terms of light and shadow. It does have a halo around it though - again probably a result of the technique.

The halo is back again picture 6. Like the first one I'd have liked to see some more contrast in light between the two different sides of the builing. Striking all the same though.

Some super locations and viewpoints in here but I would have liked to have seen what could be done with 'normal' pics as I often think the HDR / HDR style worked shots can sometimes leave them looking a bit strange.

Phil, I went HDR cause of the light, number 1 and 8 wouldn't be possible shooting into the sun without using HDR. The limits of digital over film become more apparent in high contrast situations like there was today.

I'll dig through the original files and post some of the straight shots for comparison.

Yeah, I guess 1 & 8 would have been impossible but only impossible if you wanted the shots you've produced here. Does that make sense

I guess what I mean is - Shooting 'faithfully' is possible if you shoot 'with' the conditions. Perhaps different angles or view points for example.

If the view you've chosen was the required view then HDR would be the way to go.

Esp the composition and colours. The only one I'm not really keen on is 6, as that glow kinda spoils it for me. My favourites are 1 and 8

Great set of photos here. Love your portrayal of geometric shapes along with interesting display of perspective. All are well composed and exposed. My favorite would be the final photo because of the disappearing vanishing point and the starburst sun rays. Well composed and a very interesting photo.

Love this set of shots, the location is wonderful and you have chosen some interesting angles particulaly like your use of steps and arches. Have to say I am with Phil with regard to HDR somehow I always want to wipe the screen as there seems to be something between my eye and the image. Still how you present your work is up to you and if you like them treated in this manner then I am happy to accept your decision.

I like the last one best, but where you have tone mapped your images there is haloing on them where you have for example the dark building or trees, then you have a light halo around it where is meets the sky. I think if you change the luminosity slider, and the light smoothing you should be able to get rid of those.

Other than that i think they are composed really well, it looks like a lovely place to visit
