Re: Anyone use film aswell?

As some members are interested here are some pictures of this camera.

This camera has been owned by me from new. picture 7 is of the built in light meter which can be seen as working. the arm with the ring on is manually moved to line up with the straight arm for correct light setting. As you can see it is in excellent condition for its age apart from the delay arm of the shutter as shown below not working properly ( may only need a few drops of oil and moved a few times). Not having taken any pictures with it for many years obviously I cannot vouch for that side of it but I allowed for that in my PM,s.
These cameras were never offered with a lens cover as a matter of interest so don't try looking for one. Range finders (distance meter) was on the next model up the Vito CLR.
I did at one time have the remote shutter release cable and might well be still in the loft but can't garrantee finding it.

Picture 4 shows the only wear on the case

Re: Anyone use film aswell?

Congrats on winning the ebay camera you should have some fun with it. As for selling mine, if someone wants it then I will consider selling it as I have said, but i am not really bothered and it is becoming a bit or a rarety, especially as it has hardly been used. This is not an SLR camera it has seperate viewfinder as can be seen in the photos.

Re: Anyone use film aswell?

Yep just as I suspected, all it needed was a couple of drops of light oil on the shutter delay arm and now its working perfectly.

Re: Anyone use film aswell?

Bazza that's great news! Are you going to use it yourself???Might be fun to have a play around with it.

I saw on these cameras on Ebay yesterday, in excellent condition like yours, I think it was for sale at about £150.

Re: Anyone use film aswell?

No it will go back in the draw for the next 30 odd years unless someone is really keen on purchasing it. I bet those on e-bay arn't "as new" like mine. It has hardly been used, less than 4 film rolls is my estimate.
Just had a look from the back thru the lens and there are a couple of spots of dust which would need removing, however the good news is that its not like a digital camera where the whole thing has to be stripped down, with this one its just a matter of undoing a couple of screws that hold the distance front on to get to the offending area. If I had a jewellers set of screwdrivers I could easily do it myself. But 2 spots of dust after 40 years? not bad

As for Ebay price I wouldn't want anywhere near that.

Re: Anyone use film aswell?

MS

No is the straight answer, I have gone completely digital, I don't even use my movie 8mm colour camera any more, see below
.

It still works and has all cables leads etc. Needs a bit of a clean thats all on the body, may give it a brushover now I have got it out and charge the batteries.

Now that is fun to play with and it can be played back- viewed -either on a TV-Computer monitor or its own screen.
