Re: moon

Let you all into a little secret, the moon photo with the craters was the only reasonable one out of about 50 pictures I took. There were several problems I had to overcome, first it was a freezing cold night at 2 am on a winters night
and had to have a clear sky with a full moon

I tried fixing the camera and lens to the tripod to keep the camera still but as soon as I had it set up the moon moved out of frame. Trying to manually focus with a lens of 2600mm also keeping the moon in shot believe me isn't the easiest of things to attempt, especially when your shivering, the camera tripod is just a camera rest not clamped down and your lying on the ground on your back thinking "why am I doing this? I must be mad".

At least I did manage to get something although not fantastic, would give it serious thought before trying it again.
